To bestow power upon one,
Is akin to ingesting poison.
It makes one blind,
Not only to the mistakes made.
Nor to the unhappiness wrought.
But also to one's own fault.
It makes one deaf,
Not only to worthy advice.
Nor to the cries of those wronged.
But also to the unrivalled truth.
It makes one careless,
And fallible,
Contradicting,
And gullible.
Power is Poison.
